Adult Day Programs

Many seniors and older adults can continue to live in their own homes or with family if they have appropriate support services. For adults who require help with medication, healthy meals, or simply the social interaction that keeps life interesting, adult day programs are a wonderful addition to senior care. Day programs provide a safe, enjoyable environment, creative activities, exercise, and in some cases, on-site health services. An alternative to daily in-home care, these programs provide critical services for families who need to work but who also need care for a senior who may require attention throughout the day. IOA offers three Adult Day Programs for San Francisco seniors.

Social Day Program

Irene Swindells Center for Adult Day Services social day program serves individuals with mild to moderate memory loss. Swindells provides a social environment, meals, exercise, planned activities and personal care as needed. Activities are tailored to the mental, emotional, and physical needs of adults with early stage memory loss, and are customized to each individual’s ability and interests. Transportation to and from the center, snacks, and lunch are provided.

Swindells Center is designed for adults with mild to moderate memory loss, and no significant health care needs. Swindells is a social day program and does not provide health care services. Learn more
