Spend your holiday season spreading cheer to those who need it most. The Center for Elderly Suicide Prevention and Grief Related Services, a program of Institute on Aging, celebrates its 22nd annual Cable Car Caroling on December 7, 2008. Join over 300 guests in support of services to San Francisco seniors. Participants board motorized cable cars and tour the city to carol at senior homes and residences. Afterwards the carolers come together for a warm holiday dinner, an exciting silent auction, and a raffle prize drawing.

- Provide free and immediate access to assist seniors in need
- Raise awareness of elder depression among caregivers, seniors, social service providers, and health care professionals
- Train health care and social service professionals to recognize elder depression
- Break the cycle of depression and suicide by offering counseling to people of all ages who have suffered a loss from suicide, or a sudden or traumatic death
Donate to our silent auction and prize drawing! Our event concludes with an exciting silent auction and a raffle prize drawing. Items from last year’s event included dinner at Delfina, a stay at the luxurious Carneros Inn in Napa, San Francisco Giants' Willie Mays signed memorabilia, a spa retreat, fun family trips, and more! Your contribution will be recognized on all print media, at the event, and on our website.

"We all know the holidays can be a hard time for those living alone and on fixed incomes. But, really, they can be hard for anyone. Giving something of yourself, joining with others to give the gift of music and hospitality to others, makes everyone feel a little brighter."
--Dr. Patrick Arbore, director of IOA's Friendship Line, a 24-hour support line for depressed, lonely, and suicidal elders.
